Linux has come a long way from Linus Torvalds's 386 desktop back in Helsinki in 1991.

If all goes well, the first non-rocket-powered flight on Mars will be made by the Perseverance Mars Rover's companion drone helicopter, the Linux-powered Ingenuity.
